Tips for bridesmaids – organising the Hen night

So you’ve been given the sort after task of being the head bridesmaid, it’s now time to plan the hen night…

• Date - this is the most crucial thing, you need to make sure that all of the brides friends/family are available for the whole weekend or night depending on what you are planning to do.

• Location – everyone in the party must be able to get to the location where the event is taking place.

• Activities – need to be something that the whole group will have fun doing, most of all the hen.

• Booking – it’s really important to get booked ASAP as activities and hotels soon get booked up especially in the wedding season!

A Bride creates a Porsche to fulfil her childhood fantasy

Megan Ashton converted a Volkswagen Beetle that has seen better days, into a classic Porsche for her wedding.

She only paid £200 for the VW, then spent six years converting the car into a Porsche 356 for her dream day. The car has now been valued at £25,000.

It was a dream come true that the car was completed in time for her wedding, she spent years stripping the car down and building it up from scratch.

Pippa Middleton has been inspired by all of the recent celebrity weddings, she is said to be planning her own soon!

It has been reported that Pippa and her partner are currently having a “trial marriage” to make sure that they are suited to each other.

Everyone is curious as to the Hen weekend and wedding Pippa will have. The Wedding will most likely be organised by her parent’s, as they own a successful events company.

Bridesmaid attends Wedding virtually

A Bridesmaid attended her best friends wedding virtually last week thanks to the magic of technology. Renee Armstrong was unable to physically attend the wedding, so she appeared virtually using her iPad and webcam.

The iPad was carried down the aisle by Renee’s escort, which she said was the only awkward aspect of attending the wedding virtually.

Renee also had her makeup done to reflect the wedding theme, which was good as she fitted in with all of the other bridesmaid in the wedding photos. Thanks to the iPad it was like she was really there.

Finding the right venue....

SO, you've put your guest list together (see our previous blog post) your next task is to choose a venue that will be suitable for all of your guests.

You'll need to take into account the different age ranges (from the mother in law to younger sisters and cousins) and different tastes (not everyone will enjoy a mad night out on the town!)

















You'll also need to think about what elements you'd like to include in the night, such as food, drinks, entertainment, and look for somewhere that can cater for a large group.

Don't forget that there will be a variety of different tastes in your group, so there's no point in booking in to an Indian restaurant if not everyone will enjoy the food. Look for a venue that offers a varied menu, and can cater for any guests who may have allergies or dietary requirements.

Also look for a venue that has different entertainment options, and plays a great variety of music that everyone in your group will love dancing and singing along too.

We recommend finding a venue that offers everything you need, all under one roof!

This will not only minimise the amount of travel (who wants to traipse around town from restaurant to bar to club in heels?) but also stop disagreements about "where to go next?"

So you're planning a hen night?!

So you've been given the task of planning the hen night. It's the bride's 'last night of freedom' so it's got to be a fun packed night that she will remember. Everyone is relying on you to make sure it happens - the pressure is on! But where do you start?!

If your bride wants to invite her mum, or younger family members there's no point in planning a night of debauchery at an Adonis Caberet Show! So our first bit of advice is to compile The Guestlist!

Once you've done this, you'll have a rough idea of numbers which will make it much easier when choosing a venue!
